A cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) technology that aids in the early detection of lung cancer is now available in the Philippines. The technology, co-hosted by AstraZeneca and AC Health, was showcased at a media conference held on July 26 at Healthway Cancer Care Hospital in Taguig.

AI Integration in Lung Cancer Detection

Healthway Cancer Care Hospital in Taguig has integrated the Qure.AI platform for lung cancer detection, addressing the low early screening rates in the country. The platform utilizes AI-powered lung-nodule analysis to enhance CT imaging capabilities.

According to the American Institute for Preventive Medicine (AIPS), combining CT imaging with an automated AI system for lung nodule analysis can predict EGFR genotype and identify patients who are at a higher risk of developing lung cancer.
