Clemson Football: DL Peter Woods out, WR Tyler Brown active vs NC State

Clemson football will be without defensive lineman Peter Woods on Saturday when the Tigers travel to Raleigh to take on NC State.

Woods, a redshirt sophomore, has been dealing with an ankle injury and did not practice this week. He is expected to miss multiple games.

Woods has played in all four games this season, starting two. He has recorded seven tackles, including two for loss.

Brown, a senior, was questionable to play after suffering a concussion last week against Wake Forest.

However, he practiced fully this week and is expected to start against the Wolfpack.

Brown is Clemson's leading receiver this season with 20 catches for 286 yards and two touchdowns.

Woods' absence will be a blow to Clemson's defense, which is already without starting defensive end Xavier Thomas.

Thomas is out for the season with a foot injury.

Woods' injury could mean more playing time for redshirt freshman defensive end Ruke Orhorhoro and true freshman defensive end Cade Denhoff.

Brown's return is a boost to Clemson's offense, which has struggled to find consistency in the passing game this season.

Brown is a reliable target for quarterback DJ Uiagalelei and his return should help the Tigers move the ball more effectively.

Clemson is a 10-point favorite over NC State on Saturday. The game will be televised on ACC Network at 3:30 p.m. ET.
